About me

After graduating with a degree in Applied Mathematics from Nanterre University in 1992 - MASS (Paris X) I decided to come and start something new in the UK. In the continuation with my initial idea for a career I graduated in computer art and eventually started working in film special-effects. If the job brought its own rewards I nonetheless always seemed to be drawn back to the subjects of Psychology, Psychoanalysis and Philosophy. A few years later I decided to enrol in further studies at the Therapeutic Research Centre at Roehampton University, London.

Training and Qualification

Following a Post Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred, Existentialist/Phenomenological and Psychoanalytic psychotherapy I was awarded in 2009 with a Master of Science (MSc) in Psychotherapy and Counselling from the university of Roehampton in London. I am also certified by the Metanoia institute in Transactional Analysis, the WPF foundation in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and in Bereavement from the Brent Bereavement Services in London. Ethics is at the centre of my work as a psychotherapist and follows the code as described by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) from which I am also a certified member (MBACP 700417). I am currently in the process of translating from French into English language the book entitled "Démasquer le Réel" by the Lacanian psychoanalyst Serge Leclaire (ISBN 9782020063807).

Struggle Between Desire and Reason: a divided Self

We sometimes do things we feel we shouldn't be doing, or we might do things fully consciously, since they are in agreement with what we arguably hold to be the right thing at this particular point in time, only to be left feeling somehow uneasy, anxious or even angry about something; there is a 'split' between what our desires push us to feel and do, and what reason seems to dictate. A solution to this tension? An authentic exploration of one's experience with a special interest in the actual words being used, in the things, needs and subject matters which too often may have passed as irrelevant, forbidden or shameful.
